Joking aside, I do absolutely admire those collectors out there who go the extra mile in identifying and keeping the historical details of firearms alive for future generations. Especially when they are also good writers and publish the information they have painstakingly gained over a lifetime of firearms collecting experience. With that in mind, I came across this online database that anyone can submit information about their M1 Garand to. The M1 has an almost cult like following among the collector group in the United States. Fast forward to the future, and the ability to easily at a price collect and purchase this rifle has exploded its popularity in the United States, unlike the M14 or M16 with the Class III status that it entails. Thus, owners are keeping their name off the internet and avoid a possible burglary from a conniving criminal , while being able to share their particular M1 to the collective pot of information out there, so other collectors and researchers can search numbers, and associated histories. Essentially the rest of the site is an almost Garand collector meets internet, and there are a ton of other features that look to be of great help to any Garand collector or World War Two aficionado. It is Garand collectors being innovative.

After WW2 ended, the Overton Woodworking Corp. of Chicago began making replacement M1 Garand and Carbine stocks. One of their machine setups created a triggerguard notch similar to .
Short answer is the best answer. No Damn, beat me to it!!! Some times on a quiet, rainy evening I wipe the carbines and Garands down with an oiled rag and wounder who used it, where, what action did it see, how many G. If they could only talk. I tracked down his son and confirmed that the soldier did land on D-Day and was subsequently wounded. Interestly, the son had no interest in getting it back. You are one lucky M1 owner. About 20 years ago I heard a pretty freak story on tracking history that had a remarkable ending.
A guy bought an antique desk with the idea of restoring it best he could and using it in his office. While he was pulling out the draws he found a stack of letter some guy had written to his brother. The letters were mostly him telling his brother about family stuff He tracked down the guy’s son by the name on the letters

Posts 4, A grand old Garand I think there is a lot of information and mis-information about the ammo that is suitable for the M1 Garand. I can’t say I have all the answers but I do have some experience with the rifle and with different ammo, mil-spec, commercial and a variety of hand loads. It has been said that the gas system requires a certain range of pressures at the gas port down at the muzzle end of the barrel.
I have found conflicting information over the years about what the port pressure is supposed to be so I’ll not claim to know any more. It has been proven safe and reliable to feed this rifle with hand loads with bullets of grains to about grains, when loaded with powders in what are known as the mid burning rate range.
The M1 Garand was the standard service rifle from through The result is that the parts kit represents a wide range of places and dates of manufacturing. However, it is possible to figure out when and where Garand parts were manufactured, at least within ranges of time.
I’d have to see the stamps on ALL of the parts, but the good news for you is that from your pictures you have an un-touched non-rebuild authentic Winchester M1 Carbine. Nearly each and every M1 Carbine that was issued for service in WW2 went thru a rebuild process. During that process, they were torn down into little pieces and rebuilt with then-current spec parts. Yours still sports the early flip-type rear sight, push button safety, flat bolt and the barrel band without the later bayonet lug.
Going on that alone, I’d say things look really good for you. I am not a Winchester M1 Carbine collector. From what I’ve learned over the past 50 years that I’ve owned and fired. Those who collect them have very deep pockets. If all of your rifle is original Winchester and original to the rifle, I’d expect you could easily double that.
If I were you, I’d buy a Collector’s book on. You seem to have a dandy there.

The anime film Metropolis , based off an Osamu Tezuka manga which was itself based loosely off a film by Fritz Lang , uses the same music with a very similar impact.
Yoko Kanno already had some OST fame for a very different sound that was and continued to be in demand for sci-fi works, or 20 Minutes into the Future settings like Cowboy Bebop. Honestly, as soon as I read ” That isn’t the only cause of them, but one of several. Actually, I don’t think the out of battery discharge OOBD has been absolutely explained even though a lot of people will tell you they know why. My opinion it’s usually a combination of several factors. Loading directly into the chamber and letting the bolt close on it is one. The rifle was never meant to operate that way.
When stripping a round off the clip stack, the bolt travel is slowed quite a bit. Letting it fly home gets it going way too fast before it stops abruptly

On the other side of the equation, the 7. The gun has been reviewed and re-reviewed probably s of times since its introduction. The Mini was hugely popular, especially after the A-Team saved the day proudly tooting stainless Mini s with folding stocks.
Actually due to budget reasons, the A-Team featured the Mini in a variety of versions simply because they had to buy all the weapons featured in the episode… so they just kept reusing the same guns over and over. The other most significant consideration was that blank rounds used for movies are horribly dirty and generally cause gun malfunctions, scene reshoots, and delays.
